Marvin graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1951.In his youth he lived in the sheriff's quarters at what is now the Kewaunee County Jail Museum when both his father and mother served as Kewaunee County Sheriff for a 10 yr span in the 1940's & 50's.Charlie taught English as a foreign language in Talas, Turkey from 1959 to 1961 and then returned to Wisconsin to teach economics and various history classes at Madison West High School from 1963 to 1992.Many of his students remained friends throughout his life.She loved her students with all her heart and helped ensure they were all taken care of by providing clothes and food (an effort which became known at school as "Paula's Pantry") and presents as well.
Paula was at all of the Sevastopol athletic events, supporting the students, her sons, Phil and Andy during their years of coaching, and helping wherever else she was needed.He loved Door County but was drawn by the warmth and beauty of the desert.He never missed an opportunity to share his surroundings with family and friends.Charlie graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1955.He continued his education at Carelton College in Northfield, MN where he earned a BA degree in 1959 and then at Oshkosh State Teachers College where he earned a BS degree in 1963.She worked for White Pine Hardware Store for a little over a year before going to work for White Pine High School for five years.
