validating a checkbox-16

I would like to validate that a Checkbox is checked on the client-side.I have tried the "requiredfieldvalidator" and the "regularexpressionvalidator", but haven't been able to get either of them to work the Checkbox. Thanks, Scott Scott, If you have tried the Required Field Validator, you would have seen: Control 'chk' referenced by the Control To Validate property of 'Required Field Validator1' cannot be validated. In the code above we have a div and inside it we have a form that contains a text with a placeholder text of name which will contain the name of the applicant , another input with type e-mail , checkbox and a text area .When the checkbox is checked the textarea should appear so by default it should be hidden. All what we will have to do is give an id to the form , I gave it an id of myform, then use j Query to grab and submit the form.

22934 I am sure most of you have seen a lot on the Internet which is when there is something hidden in the form , something like a section for extra information or feedback and you press on a checkbox to toggle it and show it or hide it . We are going to be using j Query because it will be much easier and shorter and I do not want you to get lost in a lot of lines but this example can be done with only javascript and it will not be hard .0;ji.prototype.cancel=function(a);function ri(a,b){if(0==a.o)if(a.ha){var c=a.ha;if(c.w) function Li(a,b,c) function Ki(a,b,c) Gi.prototype.ta=function(a,b);function Pi(a);function Qi(a,b) ;var Ri=/^(? La=function();function bj(a) C(bj,$i);bj.prototype[th]=! 0;r=bj.prototype;r.listen=function(a,b,c,d);r.ag=function();r. 22934 Now what we need to do is to attach an event to the checkbox so it checks it’s state each time it’s changed and show the message if it has been unchecked , notice I added a checked property to the checkbox so it is checked by default. There are two events that you can attach to the checkbox to be fired once the checkbox value has been changed they are the onclick and the onchange events. And inside them we are using the jquery hide() and show() functions .
